Homemade Corn Syrup Substitute

Homemade Corn Syrup Substitute

I know a lot of peo
ple are making their Easter Candies right n
ow! Most of them call for Corn Syrup!
That stuff is so nasty & so bad for you! You can read about the dangers & side effects here:

~All you need~

  • ~2 cups white sugar
  • ~3/4 cup water
  • ~1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ~1 pinch salt
  • 1. Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan.
  • 2. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  • 3. Reduce heat to a simmer and put cover for 3 minutes to get sugar crystals off the sides of the pan. ( This never happen to me, so I just skipped it & it worked out fine for me)
  • 4. Uncover and simmer, stirring often, until it reaches the soft ball stage.

  • Makes about 2 cups

I have used this recipe last year & it worked great when I was making my homemade marshmallows!

    Enjoy!
