DIY Pottery-barn Decor Letters!

Soooo I saw these letters in the latest magazine & thought the idea was super cute! Don't get me wrong, I love their stuff, but if I can save money & do it myself while enjoying it, so be it!

So I took some pretty scrap booker paper, spray tacky glue, white paint & some wooded letters.

Love this stuff!! It works great for all craft projects! I sprayed the letters, with the tacky glue & laid the paper on them. I made sure there were no crinkles, as I was smoothing it out. Then I painted the sides white, with acrylic paint.

I'm thinking of copying the same idea with flowers around her name. I'll post of a picture of the finish project soon!

DIY Pottery Barn Decor!

This past week I received in the mail, the latest pottery barn kids magazine! Like always, I always like to browse their magazines!

I came across this painted tree, with fake leaves attached to the painted branches & thought that was such a cute idea!

For sometime now I still haven't been 100% happy with my Emma's room! I saw this tree & had to do it myself!

I found some bird houses for only $1.00 each at my local dollar store!! Steal!!

I had the paint on hand, which worked out perfectly! Now Pottery Barn has the bird houses for $24.00 each!! I'm sorry but that's a rip off when it took me less than 30 mins to paint the birdhouses! The tree took me maybe an hour!

Sorry for the lack of a nice made bed! :)

There you have it, a very simple DIY pottery barn project!

Enjoy!

Light General Tso's

I found this recipe on Martha Stewart website! No joke, I have a love/hate relationship with her stuff! Sometimes her recipe or craft ideas frustrate me to the max, then sometimes their super easy! I really enjoyed this recipe, its not really hot just has a slight kick to it! You can find the recipe here :http://www.marthastewart.com/314942/lighter-general-tsos-chicken

The recipe calls for soy sauce, but we try to avoid soy as much we can, so instead I use Bragg's Liquid Aminos! It taste very similar to soy sauce just not as salty.

Ingreidents
1 1/4 cups long-grain brown rice I used white rice instead, since my husband doesn't like brown rice = )
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 pound snow peas, trimmed and halved crosswise
4 garlic cloves, sliced
2 teaspoons fresh ginger, grated and peeled
3 tablespoons light-brown sugar
2 tablespoons Bragg's Liquid Aminos
1/2 teaspoon red-pepper flakes
2 large egg whites
Coarse salt and ground pepper
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 tablespoons safflower oil

Directions
Cook rice according to package instructions. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, stir together 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 1/2 cup cold water until smooth. Add snow peas, garlic, ginger, sugar, soy sauce, and red-pepper flakes; toss to combine, and set aside.

In another bowl, whisk together egg whites, remaining 3 tablespoons cornstarch, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Add chicken, and toss to coat.

In a large nonstick skillet, heat 1 tablespoon oil over medium-high. Lift half the chicken from egg-white mixture (shaking off excess), and add to skillet. Cook, turning occasionally, until golden, 6 to 8 minutes. Transfer to a plate; repeat with remaining oil and chicken, and set aside (reserve skillet).

Add snow-pea mixture to skillet. Cover; cook until snow peas are tender and sauce has thickened, 3 to 5 minutes. Return chicken to skillet (with any juices); toss to coat. Serve with rice.

3D birds!

I made these 3D bird picture frames, over the weekend! I had some spare frames laying around & figured I could do something really cute with them for my daughters room, since her room is bird theme!

I use really pretty scrapbook paper for the background & found the bird templates online. Then I bought 3D popup dots, at walmart for only like $2.00. After I cut out the bird templates I applied the 3D dots to back of the birds! There you have it, super easy DIY decorating project that doesn't cost much!

You could use any shape really & those 3D dots really make any picture pop!

What y'all think? Super cute & super easy!

Pinwheels

Take 8 regular pieces of paper, fold according style.

Glue all the pieces together.

Then add a cute button to the center!

You can use different patterns & put them on a blank wall that needs a little something. It's a cheap way to decorate, plus it's really cute!
